2026 Zambia General Election: Results Dashboard

Polls closed Thursday, 13 August 2026. Vote counting was briefly suspended nationwide on 14 August after reports of violence and ballot theft in some districts, then resumed the same evening. As at ECZ’s latest briefing, presidential results have been consolidated from 161 of 226 constituencies, with the remaining 65 still being counted, verified and transmitted to the National Results Centre in Lusaka. The Commission had targeted a full declaration by Monday, 17 August; counting continues past that target. Figures below are provisional until the ECZ Chairperson formally declares a result.

Presidential Race

14 candidates contested. A candidate needs more than 50% of valid votes cast to win outright; otherwise a run-off is held between the top two. Candidates are listed alphabetically, matching ECZ’s own results portal convention.

Figures reflect ECZ’s consolidated tally from 161 of 226 constituencies, covering 3,304,367 valid votes. Dan Pule and Richwell Siamunene’s totals had not been re-confirmed by ECZ as of this update and are shown pending; Xavier Chungu withdrew from the race on 12 August, and his tally is carried at its pre-withdrawal count. Within constituencies declared so far, Hichilema’s share sits above the 50%-plus-one threshold, though this remains provisional pending results from the 65 outstanding constituencies.

National Assembly (Parliamentary) Results

226 constituency seats across 10 provinces, plus 40 proportional representation seats (20 women, 15 youth, 5 persons with disabilities). 969 candidates contested the constituency seats.

A number of individual seats have been declared and reported as ECZ works through the count, including UPND holding Nakonde and NRPUP taking Mwenzo, while in Mazabuka Central UPND’s Vincent Lilanda unseated long-serving MP Gary Nkombo. A full, province-by-province table for all 226 constituencies will populate here once ECZ publishes consolidated parliamentary results in bulk, in the same verified form used for the presidential figures above. Nothing further is pre-filled or estimated ahead of that.
