Tanzania’s First Gentleman, Hafidh Ameir Hassan, husband of President Samia Suluhu Hassan, has died.
Mr Ameir died on Monday, September 7, 2026, while receiving treatment in Zanzibar. His death was announced by Tanzania’s Vice President, Deogratius Ndejembi.
Messages of condolence have begun pouring in from across Tanzania following the death of the First Gentleman.
